UK MEDS Boost Lyle's Pink October Campain

UK Meds the Nottingham based online pharmacy has today presented Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor with a cheque for £1000 to boost his fundraising efforts for Cancer Research UK.

During the month of October UK Meds pledged to donate £500 towards Lyle’s Pink October fund for every goal he scored and £1000 for every goal he scored against local rivals Derby County. The £1000 total was awarded when Lyle scored in the 64th minute against Derby County, levelling up the game to 1:1.

Lyle Taylor raised funds for Cancer Research UK during the month of October by wearing pink football boots and dyeing his hair pink, to create a reminder for everyone during breast cancer awareness month. The whole of the Nottingham Forest team also got behind Lyle’s campaign for the Derby County game on October 23rd by wearing special UK Meds branded pink training shirts to warm up in.

UK Meds is the official back of shirt and training wear sponsor for Nottingham Forest and after seeing Lyle’s campaign on social media the local business decided that it would like to support the cause in a fun and incentivising way. Joe Soiza, director of UK Meds said: “As well as being the back of shirt sponsors to Forest, we are also lifelong fans of the club and so as soon as we heard about Lyle’s campaign, we really wanted to get behind it.

“As a healthcare provider, we are really proud to support Lyle’s Pink October and we hope that the UK Meds donation of £1000 will help to support research into cancer cures and boost Lyle’s total amount. During the pandemic, many fundraising events have been cancelled, so it is really important to shine a light on fundraising efforts like Lyle’s Pink October campaign and give where we can.”

As Lyle explained: As Lyle explained: “In my family, three of my grandparents have suffered from bowel, prostate and skin cancers. Thankfully, they are all recovered and are fully enjoying their lives.

“My aunt's mum and nan's best friend both had breast cancer and unfortunately passed away. Raising money for cancer research is something that is important to me, simply because I've seen people so close to me suffer and, in the worst cases, lose that fight.”
