Success as Ashfield Education centre celebrates first anniversary

Husband and wife team behind Kirkby in Ashfield’s education centre are celebrating a year since they first opened their doors to just two students!

Since last November, Tasha and James Cotterill have welcomed over 60 students to the Kip McGrath Education Centre and are celebrating their special day with a virtual VIP awards evening for their students.

Ashfield’s Centre Director Tasha says “Although this year has been tough, we have been celebrating a year of supporting students and helping them progress! We believe our continued growth is down to the service we offer, during the first lockdown James and I were out lending laptops to those who could not access online tuition, we sent all of our students prizes, medals and certificates to boost morale and keep them motivated. We also had a Facebook page open to the public where we posted work every day for free and those that joined in got sent prizes and certificates. We are a business that needs to earn a living but above all we are passionate about helping the families in our community; we are always on the other end of the computer or phone for advice.”

Kip McGrath Ashfield provides tuition for students between the ages of 6 – 18, who are looking for extra support or extension in English and maths. Each student is given a free in-depth educational assessment and the results are discussed confidentially with parents. If tutoring is necessary, an individual learning programme is designed around the child’s needs. “With 40 years proven record, a bespoke Kip McGrath programme can build your child’s confidence and get the results that they deserve, recently we have seen 18 months progress happen in just 12 lessons. Since opening we have taken on two new tutors Leigh and Chris and two support staff Emma and Abbi and I believe that they have been instrumental in securing the amazing progress of our students and helping to create a nurturing environment with first class customer care.” Says secondary tutor and director James Cotterill.
